We are delighted to announce that our existing gym in Horsham will be having an upgrade this August, everything you see in the gym currently will be changing and we can’t wait to share the news with you.
We are transferring our existing equipment from Technogym to Matrix. Having gone out to look at both suppliers in March/April, we were sold by the infotainment/gamification of what Matrix had to offer. With a large demographic of members at BCS, we have a wide audience to cater for and felt that Matrix offered user friendly and varied programmes and machines that would suit our membership base.
Have a question about the new refurbishment or are thinking about joining Bluecoat Sports and would like to know more about our new offering? Get in touch with us today. You can call us on 01403 247 572 or fill out our online form.
Gym Closure
The Fitness Suite will close on Saturday 20th August at 18:00 and will reopen on Thursday 1st September at 06:30. Throughout the closure the Fitness Yard will be open for use, but will be closed on Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd August due to the equipment extraction, and again on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st August for installation. Please keep an eye on our social media and our website for any changes.
Inductions
All of our existing cardio and resistance machines are being replaced, meaning that some equipment will operate differently. We therefore encourage all members to book in for a short induction session where we will show you how the new equipment operates.
We will be doing this via group inductions of up to 6 people, and the induction will last no longer than 30 minutes. These inductions are not mandatory, but we would encourage you to have one in order for you to get the best out of our new equipment. Inductions will start from 1st September and will be available to book from Monday 15th August.
Exercise Programmes
Moving away from Technogym means that we will no longer use their MyWellness programme. We will instead be using Engage 360, a similar programme offered by Matrix, which will link in with our existing App. Unfortunately, we are unable to automatically migrate programmes stored in MyWellness to the new platform.
Therefore, if you would like to continue using your current training programme you will need to let us know so we can manually transfer it over. Please do this by emailing your full name, MyWellness programme name and the email associated with that programme to Fitnessteam@christs-hospital.org.uk. Please note that if we do not hear from you by 31st August, then all previous programmes stored within MyWellness will be lost and we will not be able to retrieve them. Should you want to discuss a new programme, please speak to one of the Fitness team.

Here are just a few of the new pieces of equipment that we will be introducing:
