Code of Conduct for members of Bluecoat Sports
Introduction
Welcome to the Code of Conduct for Bluecoat Sports. This document outlines the expectations,
guidelines, and standards of behaviour for all members and participants of our club. By joining our
club, you agree to abide by these rules and uphold the values and principles that define our
community.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to foster a positive and inclusive environment within our Club.
It promotes respect, integrity, and a spirit of ‘fair play’ amongst all staff and members, ensuring a safe
and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
This Code of Conduct applies to all staff, both Christ’s Hospital and Bluecoat Sports, school students
and our members. It governs behaviour during all club activities, events, meetings, social interactions
and any interactions representing the club.
Member Responsibilities
All staff, students and members of the Club are expected to display:
- Respect: treat each other with courtesy, respect and consideration, regardless of position, length
of membership, background or differences of opinion. - Integrity: act honestly, ethically and with integrity at all times, including when no-one is watching,
avoiding any behaviour that may upset staff, students or other members. - Compliance: adhere to all Club policies, rules and regulations.
Behaviour Standards
All staff, students and members of the Club are expected to behave as follows:
- Respect for Others: treat all individuals with dignity, respect for their rights and opinions, and
refrain from discriminatory or derogatory remarks or actions. - Conflict resolution: resolve conflicts and disputes respectfully, using constructive communication
and seeking peaceful resolutions. - Language: refrain from using bad, inappropriate or discriminatory language, both in person, or in
writing, including social media.
Safety and Well-being
All staff, students and members of the Club are expected to consider the following:
- Physical Safety: Prioritise the safety and well-being of yourself and others, following safety
guidelines and protocols during all Club activities. - Emotional Well-being: Be mindful of the emotional impact of your words and actions on others,
avoiding bullying, harassment, or intimidation in any form. - Inclusivity: Embrace diversity and inclusivity, welcoming individuals of all backgrounds and
abilities into the Club community.
Reporting and Enforcement
Reporting Procedure: Please report any violations of the Code of Conduct to the Duty Manager
at the Club promptly and with sufficient detail to allow for full investigation.
Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals involved in
reported incidents, unless disclosure is necessary for investigation or resolution.
Investigation: BCS management will investigate reported violations thoroughly, gathering
relevant information and hearing from all parties involved.
Consequences: As stated within our membership terms and conditions, consequences for Code
of Conduct violations may include warnings, probation, suspension, or expulsion from the club,
depending on the severity and recurrence of the behaviour.
